After taking photos over the last ten years of my daughter and her friends in the various endeavors of their lives, I discovered all those kids became my extended family because I was always there, joking, laughing and sometimes commiserating with them while taking their photos. They became used to me being there. I realized then, it was key to taking great photos.
For me, there's a certain intimacy that comes with photography. Before I ever snap my first photo, we spend some time getting comfortable with each other. It takes everyone a little time to get loose and comfortable with a camera in their face. Capturing an image isn't all that hard. Capturing a feeling, an attitude or the inner beauty of a person? Now THAT is a different story. When photographing people, I strive for easy, comfortable conversation keeping things relaxed and laid back and getting the best out of my subject.
When you browse my gallery, I hope you see some of the personality of the people the way I do. Welcome to Fotos de Madrid, where my goal is to capture what the people who love you already see.
